THE LANDLORD free movie screening!

THE BOTTOM LOUNGE in Chicago will be screening our little horror/comedy movie, THE LANDLORD at 5pm on Sunday, December 13th. There will be drink specials named "The Rabisu" and "The Landlord", and I must say I'm curious what they consist of. 21+, bring your friends, see y'all there.

The following is a synopsis and excerpt from the The Landlord website.

"The Landlord is the story of Tyler, the unfortunate young owner of a demon-haunted apartment building. While finding tenants has never been a problem for Tyler, keeping them alive long enough to pay rent is. No matter how nicely Tyler asks, he cannot keep the demons from eating the renters (nor even persuade them to wait a month or two). The demons never listen. And why should they? They have an all-you-can-eat buffet of delicious human flesh and Tyler as their pet monkey. But all that might change when Tyler takes a liking to the newest tenant, a desperate young woman running from demons of her own.

Filmed in Chicago on nights and weekends, with a shoestring budget and a volunteer cast and crew, The Landlord exceeds the usual no-budget expectations thanks to a smart screenplay, surprisingly good CG effects, and impressive performances from some of Chicago’s top stage actors. With its mix of gore and dark, deadpan humor, comparisons to Shaun of the Dead and The Frighteners are inevitable. By turns hilarious and disturbing, The Landlord is a quirky standout in an independent horror scene glutted with backyard zombie flicks and cookie-cutter slashers."

I reviewed this one for H101 not too long ago. It's a lot of fun. I bet it'd be a blast to see with an audience.

I saw it in Minnesota at CRYPTICON with an audience and it was a blast! Plus, I am good friends with the Producer and Director. I go to conventions with them. Good times! GLAD YA DUG THE FLICK, ALEX!
